About Us

C

orporate Research International, Inc. was founded in 1997 in Findlay, Ohio by current President and CEO, Mike Mallett.

Soon after, Corporate Research International began growing its list of clients and quickly realized that the mystery shopping industry was lacking the technology and automation necessary to make the process efficient and cost effective. As a result, Mr. Mallett began building the technology infrastructure that made Corporate Research International the first mystery shopping company with a completely automated process, and utilized the internet to do so. Technology remains the cornerstone of Corporate Research International’s service to clients today. In 2003, Corporate Research International began working with its first major national restaurant client, Papa John’s, which remains as a client today. Corporate Research International’s expansion into new industries continued, including more restaurants, retailers, banks, convenience stores and many more customer-oriented businesses.

The company’s growth required a move to a larger facility, and in 2003 Corporate Research International purchased and renovated the Kirk building, a former grocery warehouse that had been empty for many years. This 50,000 square-foot facility now houses 198 employees with room to grow.

Corporate Research International’s reputation and commitment to service has enabled the company to continue its rapid growth. In 2005 and 2006, Corporate Research International was named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing, privately-held U.S. companies.

We continue to focus on delivering the most innovative and cost-effective solutions to clients across the world.

orporate Research International is headquartered in the historic Kirk building, which was built in 1905 as a grocery warehouse. The building has been restored to its original splendor with such features as original wood floors, tin ceilings and much memorabilia from Kirk & Sons grocery throughout the building.

Corporate Research International is located in the city of Findlay, Ohio a.k.a. “Flag City, USA”, and was officially designated as such on May 7, 1974, by House Joint Resolution #1003, introduced by Congressman Tennyson Guyer.

Findlay is located in northwestern Ohio, adjacent to Interstate 75, about 47 miles south of Toledo and 108 miles north of Dayton.

The city derived its name from Colonel James Findlay, Commander of the second regiment in the War of 1812. First laid out in the year 1821 by Joseph Vance and Elnathan Cory, Wilson Vance gave the town of Findlay its name. The early spelling “Findley” was used until 1870 when the modern spelling (Findlay) began to be used.

Findlay, Ohio is a fast growing community of some 39,000 citizens – a city having a great heritage since 1821. Conservative, yet energetically progressive in handling its new growth, Findlay is now an international community attracting multi-national corporations and industries, and many international students who venture here to attend the highly-respected University of Findlay. We are also a patriotic community, enthusiastically proud of our official designation as Flag City, USA.
